Supporting an International Economic Forum in Riga

On 5–7 March 2026, the 8th International Economic Forum “Innovative Economy in a Time of Geopolitical Change” will take place in Riga at the Latvian Academy of Sciences. Industra Bank clients are entitled to a 50% discount on forum participation.

The Forum is organised by the Institute of Economics of the Latvian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), under the patronage of the European Parliament and with the support of Industra Bank. The scientific partner is Berkeley Haas, University of California.

Over the course of three days, experts, entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers will discuss innovation, dual-use technologies, the bioeconomy, the green economy, artificial intelligence, and export opportunities in Asian and other global markets, with particular focus on entering new markets amid geopolitical change.

Special attention will be given to investment projects across various sectors with a total financing volume of approximately €500 million, offering substantial potential for bank financing, direct investment and strategic partnerships. These projects span key sectors of the national economy — from sustainable energy and technology platforms to high-tech manufacturing and infrastructure initiatives. The projects are supported and advanced by the Ministry of Economics and LIAA.

One of the discussions will focus on emerging Asian markets and strengthening Latvia’s export capacity.

A central theme of the Forum will be the development of an export-oriented economy and expansion into new markets in the context of geopolitical change. The dedicated Session 3, “New Asian Markets: Exports, Investment and Geopolitical Challenges”, will bring together representatives of the Ministry of Economics, entrepreneurs, investors and members of the diplomatic corps to discuss current challenges, support initiatives and opportunities for expanding international cooperation. The discussion will include embassy representatives and investors from Asia, Europe and the Americas, highlighting Latvia’s strategic role as a bridge for cooperation between regions.

On 6 March, Anna Svarena, Head of Customer Service at Industra Bank, will speak in Session 3 dedicated to exports to Asian markets, outlining how Industra Bank specialists can support companies on their export journey.
